Lead came is the soft metal in between all those pretty pieces of glass in a church window. Smaller windows, panels and suncatchers usually use copper foil instead, but for larger panels and windows, lead came is the preferred method of construction.
This is our very own lead came, made by us here in Rockland, Mass., using a large and very interesting lead extrusion machine. Thousands of artisans around the world have used this came for nigh on 40 years. Available in 6-foot lengths, 45-pound cases, and 120-pound cases. The lead is chemically pure, in that it contains no recycled lead. It is 99% pure lead, the balance being a precise mix of antimony and tin for added strength. There are also trace amounts of bismuth, copper and other stuff. Contact us if you want to know more, we'd be happy to tell you.
