This lead knife features a comfortable handle, a long-lasting stainless steel blade that retains its edge, and a weighted metal butt end for tapping stop blocks or nails into place as you cut and assemble your lead panel. It is designed for safety, in that your hand cannot slip onto the blade. The curved blade allows you to cut using a gentle rocking motion, which helps you avoid crimping the lead came. All in all, a solid and capable tool for lead work.

This Leponitt hammer is heftier than the double-faced mallet we also offer. Originally designed for the glazing industry, it is versatile enough to use in other crafts. It has three interchangeable heads, the spare head being stored at the bottom end of the handle. One head is rubber for use on glass (gently, now...); one is hard plastic for tapping lead or pushpins; and one is steel for use on lead or nails. Each head simply screws in place into the one-piece glass fiber reinforced head and handle. About 11 inches long, with 1 in diameter heads, it weighs 9.5 oz.

The perfect little double-faced mallet for stained glass work. Use one side for tapping those horseshoe nails and metal push pins into place, and the other side for gently tapping glass into lead came. No doubt you will find other uses, such as imparting a friendly "Hello" to your fellow subway rider having that most INTERESTING cell phone chat about his troubling medical afflications.

If your lead came has become disheveled or unruly, or if someone has stood upon it during some unguarded moment of high excitement, you will find a Lead Straightener highly serviceable for the purpose for which it is offered. After attaching the tool to your bench with a screw or bolt, you merely insert one end of your unfortunate lead between the jaws of the Lead Straightener and pull gently until the desired results are had. 1-7/8" high.

We recognize that some of our customers may not have access to a supply of farrier's material, or may not care to have dealings with persons engaged in horse-type functions.
We have therefore made available our very own brand horseshoe nails, made to our specifications. (A point at one end, and a head at the other.) Every really swift leaded glass person is well aware of the requirement for a nail which will hold glass in place (on the work board) without chipping it, be easily removable, attractive, modest, and have just enough charisma to prevent the Cleaning Lady from throwing it out. Horseshoe nails have been used in leaded glass work for centuries. Our Horseshoe Nails are functional and recyclable to boot. (One can double as a cribbage peg, a hors d'oeuvre pick, or can be made into a finger ring for your high school sweetheart.) 2-3/16" long.
